listen to them, the children of the night. what music they make

This is traumatizing for kids. Itโ€™s one thing to encourage parents to talk to their kids about current events and give them resources. Itโ€™s another thing to give them a stressful, disturbing experience with no explanation or opportunity to process.

Black kids are old enough to  have to have long lectures to tell them not to move suddenly in front of police officers to decrease the risk of literally being murdered with no consequences I think that kids can handle a blank screen saying that they’re pausing for justice you despicable hypocritical racist who refuses to reflect on her own privilege for even two seconds

edit I am not saying that black children should have to have these conversations they obviously should not it is horrifying that it’s commonplace in the same way that it’s horrifying that young girls are given lectures on how to avoid sexual violence when obviously the problem has nothing to do with their own actions what I’m saying is that it’s bounding we tone deaf I don’t like that phrase actually I’m tone-deaf like literally at times because of autism but that’s not the point it’s incredibly tasteless to Fort that conservatives are saying this kind of thing when they’re ignoring the fact that children of color are being slaughtered and have to endure all sorts of explanations from there already traumatize parents about how to lessen their chances of being slaughtered

Hey OP, I was traumatized when I was about 7 years old after I found out that my skin color means cops will single me out if I’m not as lawful as humanly possible, if I didn’t treat cops with the most respect whether or not they treated me well. My brother was mugged about this time, and when we called the cops they treated my brother like a criminal. We are LUCKY he wasnt murdered. WHITE PARENTS NEED TO HAVE THESE CONVERSATIONS WITH THEIR KIDS AND THIS IS JUST ONE WAY TO INITIATE THEM.

You cannot understand just how important it is to black families that Nickelodeon did that, how important it is to black kids to see this support. Fuck off with your racist bullshit.
